For our second day on Big Island, we decide to discover the surroundings of Hilo, one of the 2 main cities of Big Island, located in the east of the island. The climate here is very different from the west. The area is very wet and dense vegetation!
Summary of our day
First quick stop at Hilo's market in the morning where local producers come to present their products at unbeatable prices. Then we head north of Hilo, towards the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, a beautiful botanical garden where we discover many tropical plants and impressive plants.
Then head to the famous Akaka falls. The waterfall is sublime and falls in the heart of a green setting. Then we return to Hilo to admire the Waiale waterfall and the beautiful Rainbow falls.
But the day is not over yet, we still have one more thing to discover: a lava tunnel that can be discovered by the light of the headlamp. But that will be the subject of another vlog ;)
