This final day on Kauai will be devoted to one of the most beautiful and wild areas of the island: Waimea Canyon and Koke' e State Parks.
We start with a quick discovery of the beautiful Waimea Canyon, also known as the Pacific Grand Canyon. It is the only canyon in Hawaii! But the arrival of clouds on the sea side of the lake prompts us to head quickly towards Koke' e State Park, situated a little further north.
The beautiful ridges of the N? Pali Coast are then discovered. It's absolutely magnificent! Probably the most beautiful landscapes of Hawaii! We enjoy this view and then we decide to take a path that runs along the top of the ridge and will make us discover other views in several places along the route. The stroll is superb and very pleasant, but unfortunately the clouds catch up with us and soon come to block the view. So we're turning back.
We are nonetheless very happy to have been able to admire this sumptuous view because 1 hour later, everything was clogged and impossible to see anything.
After a quick picnic, we head back to the Waimea Canyon and take the famous Canyon Trail. We follow it to the great waterfall that we hope to observe. The path goes up and down and finally arrives at the edge of the canyon. The ochre and green hues are superb and the view is incredible. The path then descends rather abruptly towards the waterfall but we will see only the summit, too bad :(
After 2 hours of walking we return the car. We end with a nice shave ice, Hawaiian speciality, to say goodbye to Kauai gently!
