Our first day in Hawaii. We arrived in Honolulu the day before and we take advantage of our first day to discover the North coast of O' ahu.

First stop at the edge found everything to do by chance in the pretty streets of Waialua. The beach is beautiful, the turquoise water, and after a few minutes, we see several sea turtles not far from the coast. A nice introduction to the subject!

In the early afternoon, we discover the beaches and waves of Haleiwa, reputed to be a surf spot. Then on to Waiema beach and its large waves, which regularly host surf competitions.

The waves are impressive, the big rollers crash at the edge of the sand and surfers are looking for the biggest waves offshore. These are not the biggest waves in Hawaii, but they are impressive. Note that the waves are much more important during the winter (December to February). During the summer they are almost non-existent, and Waimea Bay is transformed into a beautiful sandy beach.
