We are Sandrine and Flo, thirty-somethings from Toulouse who are addicted to travelling. For many years we have travelled the world together. Attracted by the great wild spaces, nature, but also culture and traditions, we have identified since 2013 a multitude of unusual or unknown places. Our travels are also discoveries and meetings with wonderful people that have deeply marked us.
Today, we continue to pursue our adventures, always in quest of new discoveries. In June 2016 we created Smartrippers to share our tips, advice and experiences to help you plan the trip of your dreams.

Beliefs and collaborations
Above all, we want to remain independent and continue to plan our trips ourselves. We are also passionate about preparing our trips months in advance, dreaming about them and living them with surprises or hazards. That's adventure too! We take care to reproduce our experiences as faithfully as possible so that they can be useful to travellers who read us.
It can happen that we work in collaboration with brands and tourist offices. In this case, we always add a mention at the beginning of the articles concerned, explaining the context and conditions of our experience. We want to keep a total transparency towards our readers. In all cases, we keep our convictions and our "outspokenness". We do not hide behind a brand just to promote it. We commit ourselves to tell our experience as we have lived it, whether it is good or bad, in all transparency.
Sandrine, 33 years from Toulouse (France). I am currently working as a project manager. I made it my specialty after my beginnings as a software engineer.
Since childhood, I have always been amazed by the world, with this inexplicable desire to go and discover it. Perhaps it was because of the Arizona and Utah landscapes that my father brought me back when he went to work there? I made my first trips when I was 13. The same year I discovered the American West, then Turkey. These 2 trips only confirmed to me in the idea that I had to leave to discover the rest of the world. So for years I put my savings aside to travel. As soon as I could I did it! First in Europe, then further and further away. In 2010 I went 16 days to Japan with a small budget, proof that it is possible! The years have passed and I have multiplied the destinations (Mediterranean basin, Antilles...). In 2013, I met Flo. Together we have adopted a new way of travelling.
Traveling far and long is not so complicated. If you do it the right way, everything becomes accessible.
Very quickly, we leave to explore Canada and the United States during a 26 days trip during which we discover very quickly a common passion for the large wild spaces and the observation of the wildlife. Then everything followed: the American West, South Korea, Japan again, Iceland and Hawaii. Each time we leave no less than 3 weeks to have time to immerse ourselves in each country.
Now I'm completely addicted to traveling! I like to live them but also to talk about them and share our good plans.
The idea of creating a website had been on my mind for a number of years, and in 2016 I decided to do so. I had to say that before each trip, I made a complete guide of the country we were going to visit. So I started to collect a huge documentary base! So it seemed important to me to share all this information that I had a lot of trouble collecting when preparing my trips.
And when I'm not writing articles, I make videos of our adventures. In 2017, we plan to focus more on making videos to illustrate and share our experiences.
Florent, 35. Originally from the south of France, I have been working since I was 18 years old in aeronautics, and two of my passions have resulted from my job: travelling and aerial photography.
Participating in the manufacture of planes is good, taking them away is better! And it is at 28 years that I made my first trip. And it will be between friends, in Japan (when you are a geek, you know quickly where you want to go!).
It's a revelation! The landscapes, the culture, the locals... only happiness. I can even boast to have discovered this country before Sandrine, because without knowing each other, we went there 1 week apart! We also prayed at the same time, me that the volcano Eyjafjallajökull still blocks us a few more days in Tokyo to prolong the holidays, and her that the volcano Eyjafjallajökull stops in time to be able to join Tokyo !
And since then, I travel as soon as possible.
Short summary: After 2010 and Japan will follow the United States in 2012 (New York, Washington D.C., and Florida), still with friends. In 2013 I meet Sandrine and we will plan our trip very quickly in Quebec and the United States. 2014 still the United States (well yes the ESTA is valid 2 years: p) but it will be the West for this time. Return to Japan in 2015 via South Korea then Iceland in 2016.
I like to go off the beaten track, find the little gem far from mass tourism that will make us say that yes, it feels good to travel differently.
